History

The site was originally opened in 1995 by Seton Healthcare System and operated as the Seton Southwest Minor Emergency Center (SSWMEC). In 1997, Dr. Duren arrived and was followed by Dr. Stefani in 1998. The SSWMEC served the minor emergency needs of the community until Seton decided to sell the practice in 1999. Consequently, Dr. Duren and Dr. Stefani formed Texas Urgent Care Associates, P.A., and purchased the practice. It has remained an independent privately owned physician practice specializing in urgent care ever since.
