Anne M. Stefani, M.D.

Born in Syracuse, NY in 1961, Dr. Stefani graduated Cum Laude from the University of Mississippi with a B.S. in Chemistry in 1984. She studied medicine at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine and graduated in 1989. She completed her training in Family Medicine as an intern and resident with the University of Mississippi in 1992. Since 1992, she has been certified by the American Board of Family Practice.

After completing her residency, she worked in Hattiesburg, Mississippi with area hospital emergency departments and urgent care centers. She became a Board Member of the Sexual Assault Crisis Center in Hattiesburg in 1996.

Dr. Stefani moved with her husband, Patrick Booth, M.D., to Austin in 1998 when she accepted the position of Medical Director of the Seton Southwest Minor Emergency Center. Dr. Stefani also became a mother in 2001, when she gave birth to their daughter, Anna.

In 1999, with partner physician Murray Duren, Jr., M.D., she founded Texas Urgent Care Associates, P.A. and currently is Vice-President and a member of the Board of Directors. Throughout her career, Dr. Stefani has been active academically and professionally with medical publications and with the American Academy of Family Practice, American Medical Association, American Medical Women’s Association, Texas Medical Association, and the Travis County Medical Society.

Murray Duren, Jr., M.D.

Born in Beaumont, TX in 1960, Dr. Duren graduated with honors from Lamar University with a B.S. in Chemistry in 1982. He studied medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and graduated in 1987. After moving to Washington, D.C., he completed his training in Family Medicine as an intern and resident with Georgetown University in 1990. Since 1990, he has been certified by the American Board of Family Practice.

After completing his residency, Dr. Duren and his wife, Whitney, moved to San Diego, California, where he started a practice with Kaiser Permanente. After the Durens had their children, Ryan and Sarah, they moved to Austin and now live in Oak Hill.

In 1999, with partner physician Anne Stefani, M.D., he founded Texas Urgent Care Associates, P.A. and is currently President and Chairman of the Board. He also is an active member of the American Academy of Family Practice, Texas Medical Association and the Travis County Medical Society.

Dr. Duren has been a leader in his community and has participated in numerous medical, civic and religious organizations. Currently, he serves as the Medical Director for the nonprofit, Central Texas Missions (www.centraltexasmissions.org), a Christian medical and dental mission organization serving Latin America, that works closely with the Baptist Medical Dental Missions International (www.bmdmi.org).
